Former White Home chief of employees Mark Meadows on Wednesday sued Home Speaker Nancy Pelosi and all 9 members of the Home choose committee investigating the lethal Capitol riot, a courtroom submitting reveals.
The civil lawsuit got here as that choose panel strikes to carry Meadows in contempt for refusing to cooperate with the probe of the Jan. 6 invasion, when then-President Donald Trump’s supporters stormed the Capitol.
The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Courtroom in Washington, asks for the courtroom to invalidate two subpoenas that the panel issued to Meadows and Verizon, the service for his prior private mobile phone, calling them “overly broad and unduly burdensome.”
A spokesman for the choose committee declined to touch upon the lawsuit. A lawyer and a spokesman for Meadows didn’t instantly reply to requests for remark.
