FBI raids properties linked to Russian oligarch and Putin affiliate Oleg Deripaska

The FBI is looking out two properties linked to a Russian billionaire with ties to President Vladimir Putin, a spokesperson for the oligarch, Oleg Deripaska, informed NBC Information on Tuesday.

The raids of two homes, situated in Washington, D.C., and New York, “are being carried out on the idea of two courtroom orders, linked to US sanctions,” the spokesperson informed NBC.

The search warrants in Washington are the results of a federal investigation stemming from New York Metropolis, two officers briefed on the matter informed NBC, which first reported earlier Tuesday that Deripaska’s residence was being raided by the FBI.

However Deripaska’s spokesperson stated the homes don’t belong to him, since he isn’t technically allowed to personal property within the U.S. as a result of sanctions in opposition to him. The homes belong to Deripaska’s relations, the spokesperson stated.
